The Additional sports programme offers a broad range of additional sports which boys can pick from if they are not selected in a major sports team throughout the year. These include Athletics, Basketball, Croquet, Equestrianism, Fencing, Fives, Football, Golf, Judo, Mountain Biking, Shooting Swimming, Squash, Tennis, Ultimate Frisbee and Watersports (Canoeing, Dingy Sailing, Kayaking, Sailing, Rowing and Windsurfing). The Sixth Form also have access to a State-of-the- Art Fitness Suite.

The programme is supported by members of the Senior Common Room as well as external Coaches so that each boy has the maximum opportunity to develop his full potential in his particular niche.

With our six lane running track, we offer fixtures against local state and independent schools to Third and Fourth Formers. Two highlights of the Sporting year at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú are the House Cross Country held in the Autumn and House Athletics held in the final week of the summer term. Both of these are genuine whole School events.

Basketball is a developing sport which is very popular among the boys. We compete in mid-week fixtures and offer training programmes through Games activities and lunch time clubs.

The school has a golf team that competes in a number of friendly matches as well as competing in the HMC Foursomes and Independent Schools Golf Association Cup. Taylors’ Golf is based at the nearby Sandy Lodge Golf Club where boys receive coaching from the club pro.

Fives has a number of Saturday and mid-week fixtures throughout the Autumn and Spring terms. Boys compete at all ages in friendly fixtures as well as tournaments such as the West of England Tournament as well as the annual national Championships.

Judo runs throughout the year and has a loyal following among the boys. All those who participate receive membership of the British Judo Association and receive a grading at the end of each term. The boys also compete in mid-week fixtures.

Squash is played all year round for boys in the Sixth Form and there is a lunch time club for all other pupils. The school has an U15 and U18 representative sides that compete in interschool fixtures as well as the National Schools Squash Cup and the Frankland Squash Matters Open.

Soccer is a Games activity reserved for Sixth Formers. It is played competitively at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú in the Autumn and Spring Terms. In each term there are regular fixtures against a mixture of independent and maintained schools. There is also a social football option for Sixth Formers who prefer not to play in competitive fixtures. Social football sessions take place on Wednesday afternoons.

Shooting takes place in the range and is open boys who are also members of the Combined Cadet Force.

The swimming squads at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú cover all years and compete in a number of galas during the Autumn and Spring terms. The school was recently Senior and Intermediate Champion of the Hertfordshire League. The swimming squads train weekly and more recreational swimming is offered during games sessions.

Tennis has four teams that play in the summer term, stretching from U14 to 1st team. Boys are coached by external tennis club professionals during the week and play a number of fixtures (both mid-week and on Saturdays) during the Summer term. Boys compete in the Independent School Tennis Championships at the end of the Summer Term, where the school has had much recent success.

Water sports offers a wide range of different activities for boys ranging from Fourth Form upwards. Water sports runs over all 3 terms and offers Windsurfing, Dinghy Sailing, Kayaking and Canoeing. Sessions take place on both the school lake, HOAC Hillingdon and at the Queen Mother Reservoir in Datchet. There are also trips to the coast for open water activities. The school has two racing teams that compete on Saturdays in friendly fixtures as well as attending the Regional BSDRA Regattas during the week.
